Europe’s Newest BTMs: From Tallinn to London to Florence

In the past two weeks, there has been a clear surge in the number of Bitcoin ATMs going live around the world, according to our content partner, Coin ATM Radar. This recent push has seen the number of active BTMs hit the 350 mark as of February 8, 2015.
One area of concentration has been Europe, with Estonia getting its first BTM, machines continuing to go up in Finland and the UK, and a couple of Robocoin kiosks finding homes in northern Italy.
Below are five new Bitcoin ATMs in Europe, plus a bonus listing for the BitPay Amsterdam office.

BITCOIN REACHES MIDDLE AMERICA WITH FIRST NEBRASKA BTM

You probably have heard of all the major endorsements and partnerships Bitcoin has garnered in 2014, effectively trading dollar value for market acceptance. The additions of Microsoft, Dell Computers and NewEgg are very important to Bitcoin’s growth both now and in the future. But the integration of digital currency into the fabric of Main St. U.S.A. may show an even greater signal that Bitcoin has arrived in the minds of mainstream consumers.

The First Nebraska BTM is Named “Jonas.”

Jones Bros. Cupcakes in Aksarben Village of Omaha, Nebraska has just received its new Bitcoin BTM from Zenbox of California. It is the centerpiece of a growing infiltration of Bitcoin throughout Omaha, with fifteen businesses joining Bitcoin in 2014.

First Bitcoin ATM In Houston Goes Live

robocoinIt seems that those who happen to live in the city of Houston, Texas, will now be able to check out the city’s very first Bitcoin ATM in the flesh. 

This Bitcoin ATM happens to “reside” in a city-owned building, where it is located within a convention center to be exact. 

Thanks to the folks over at Robocoin who are behind this Bitcoin ATM, which is operated by CoinVault, it will be open for business in downtown Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) located near the extremely popular Starbucks location.
